Middle School & Secondary

Middle School & Secondary (Std VI to VIII)

The Std VI is a part of Middle school and Std VII and VIII grades comprise the Secondary section. Each Std consists of four divisions: Karma, Shraddha, Dhyaan, and Neeti. This stage of learning caters to pre-teen children who are in the transitional phase between childhood and adolescence. These students are not yet fully independent like teenagers, nor are they as reliant on their parents as Primary School children. The students at this stage are tasked with navigating the balance between structure and freedom. This phase is designed to help them gradually develop the ability to make independent decisions while also learning to take responsibility for the outcomes of their choices. To facilitate this growth, all students are automatically granted membership in the School Council (std VI) and Student Sabha (VII and VIII). The students view these forums as a space in which they express and shape their voices. They share difficulties, discuss differing points of view, generate solutions and try to implement them, fostering a sense of ownership in the school community.

At Shishuvan, we prioritize quality learning over quantity learning. For grades VI to VIII, our curriculum remains firmly rooted in the ICSE framework while also transcending traditional learning methods to embrace a more enriched and expansive educational approach. Our commitment extends to fostering an environment of extended learning, providing students with the opportunity to immerse themselves further in their studies and broaden their horizons beyond the confines of a conventional classroom.
This innovative approach is realized through the implementation of Inquiry-based learning for students in grades VI to VIII. Our team of dedicated and highly motivated educators spearheads this integrative learning journey through two distinct groups: IBL Group 1 and IBL Group 2. Within this framework, the Inquiry statement is formulated by the IBL group 1 and group 2 teachers.
Central to this process is the active participation of students in generating inquiry questions that drive their learning experience. The subsequent development of IBL lesson plans is meticulously orchestrated to ensure that these inquiry questions serve as the focal points of exploration and investigation throughout the teaching and learning process.
This holistic approach not only enables students to establish meaningful connections with the real world but also cultivates their ability to engage in high-level questioning and experiential learning. Ultimately, this methodology empowers students to become adept problem solvers, fostering a deeper understanding of subjects and the cultivation of critical skills that will serve them well beyond the classroom.
Activities that cater to the teaching-learning process are planned to promote the development of social and communication skills through peer and group learning. Our diverse range of teaching methodologies includes:

By incorporating these methods, we create a dynamic and immersive learning environment that caters to the varied learning styles and preferences of our students.
